The hunt for shiny front-end & UX treasures has begun! For our sixth SmashingConf — in bustling New York — we’ll explore how to apply psychology to UX, design workflow, refactoring, moving to a static site setup, CSS Grid techniques, performance, deployment patterns for HTTP/2 and how to provide better estimates and pricing.
We are working hard to get the best speakers for this years SmashingConf New York 2020, we have announced a couple of wonderful names, and we hope to add a few more soon!

Sarah Drasner
Sarah Drasner is the Director of Engineering, Core Developer Web at Google. She is author of Engineering Management for the Rest of Us, an award-winning speaker, and Vue core emeritus. Sarah is formerly VP at Netlify, Principal Lead at Microsoft, and Manager at Trulia/Zillow Group. She’s an O’Reilly author and co-organizer of ConcatenateConf, a free conference for Nigerian and Kenyan developers.

Miriam Suzanne
Miriam is an artist, engineer, and open-web advocate. She’s a co-founder of OddBird, Invited Expert on the W3C CSS Working Group, and Sass core contributor who enjoys pushing the boundaries of web technology.
These days she’s working on specifications for Container Queries, Scope, and Cascade Layers in CSS; extending the Sass color module to support wide-gamut colors; and learning to crochet socks.

Jennifer Hom
Jennifer Hom has been illustrating for tech for the better part of a decade. Beginning her career as a Google Doodler for 6.5 years, she's since moved from drawing/animating/carving whimsical logos to building illustration systems.
In 2016 she joined Uber to design their illustration style and their first brand illustration team. Since then, she's taken on the role of Head of Illustration at Airbnb. Tasked to redesign their illustration system from the ground up, she's created a style centered on honesty, diversity, and scalability.

Hakim El Hattab
Hakim is a Swedish front-end developer and interface designer who loves to work on visual JavaScript experiments and user interface concepts.
He co-founded and is currently working on Slides.com, a fully featured presentation platform built on top of his open source presentation framework, reveal.js. Prior to Slides he was Lead Interface Engineer at Squarespace.

Divya Sasidharan
Divya is a web developer who is passionate about open source and the web. She is currently a developer experience engineer at Netlify, and believes that there is a better workflow for building and deploying sites that doesn’t require a server—ask her about the Jamstack. You will most likely find her in the sunniest spot in the room with a cup of tea in hand.

Robyn Larsen
Robyn Larsen is a front-end developer, entrepreneur, and speaker. Robyn is also an active community member who advises numerous startups across multiple industries and frequently mentors women in tech and STEM. She is is a member of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) with Microsoft and Avalanche Canada.
She builds tools for entrepreneurs on the International team at Shopify, teaches Zero to Launch workshops for entrepreneurs through Embrk, she is a globe trotting, adrenaline junkie currently living the remote dream in Singapore.
Rémi Parmentier
Rémi Parmentier is a French front-end developer working at his own small web development agency, Tilt Studio. He loves to learn, and enjoys even more to teach.
This led him on a joyful quest to understand and demystify HTML emails coding. Rémi runs workshops, gives talks and writes articles on his blog to help others code better HTML emails. Rémi also likes collecting Game Boy consoles and listening to Sufjan Stevens.

Zach Leatherman
Zach is a builder for the web with Netlify. He’s currently fixated on web fonts and static site generators. His public speaking résumé includes talks in eight different countries at events like Beyond Tellerrand, Smashing Conference, CSSConf, and The White House.
He is an emeritus of Filament Group, NEJS CONF, and still helps out with NebraskaJS.

Sophie Tahran
Sophie currently leads up UX writing for The New Yorker at Condé Nast. (She’s still working on winning the Cartoon Caption Contest, though.) Past lives include establishing a UX writing practice at InVision and wearing many hats at Lyft.
